    Hi Josh

We’re back from our wanderings up north …. and Wellington is COLD again this morning.
Gerard and Ro are job hunting (keeping their mother happy….) Gerard had an interview for Hells Pizza yesterday. Part time work a couple of evenings which should continue into the school term. Ro has scored an interview at Kirkaldies tomorrow - their annual sale - but it should give him 2 weeks of regular hours. He’s graduated to being taught to make cocktails at the bar…… just in their down-time!
Nick & I have been out walking - trying to build stamina for the Hollyford tramp next week. He’s gone back to work today…. not so happy… Missing you and really looking forward to hearing your news. God bless.

    Hey Boys,

Great to talk to you for an hour yesterday from San Fran. The road trip starts tomorrow and it sounds like you’re well prepared after the amazing help you’ve received from Torsten and Tineke Jacobsen, Bob and Julianne Stokstad, their friend Patrick and all the others. If they read this which I’m sure they’ll will, both Lesley and I are really grateful for your help to Jono and Josh. We would love to repay their kindness and generosity by offering our own hospitality down here in New Zealand if you would like to venture our way.

Good luck boys, stay safe, have fun and stay in touch with us as often as you can. Its going to be an epic and memorable trip. Our thoughts and love go with you.

    Andy and Lesley Bogacki

    Hi Josh,
Don’t know your proposed route in Honduras, but I found Antigua and Lake Amatitlan in Guatamala on my map. If you go to San Pedro Sula which is in the NW of Honduras, look for two towns and mention that you have a connection to St Francis Xavier Church in NYC and they’ll probably make you welcome, the towns are Urraco Pueblo and Guacamaya, over the years people from SFX have visited those towns and provide scholarships for some of the teens to attend secondary school, support a co-op, and provide some finances for Casa Corazon where 32 kids with SIDA are a living. Of course Honduras is quite a way off, you’re just getting to Mexico, right?.
By the way A guy called Dave Wyness from Auck may contact you, he’s planning a road trip to Central America and might ask you to recommend a particular road or highway (he’s someone I met while tramping on the Hollyford track).
    All the best from,
    John.

    Hey Josh!
Sounds like all is going well, too well! I eagerly await the breakdown tales.
I’m on tour at the moment, 1 week to go. yeah….
Seems like I’ll have to read the other blog to find out what you are really up to.
Are you headed this way after Brazil? I may need a boat sitter as we have been given 3 months notice to leave our idillic central London mooring.
    Let me know kev.

    kia ora josh
serves u right about the chiles! coconut cream would have been good. i am growing hot chillies this year and am beginning to eat them whole, or in sauce with basil. i wanted to develop a taste, and it seems the best way. you must be eating some delicious chiles. all the tropical fruit must be amazing. pls tell me more about the fruit and vegetables, particularly about quinoa. anything that you can source on growing quinoa would be great!

all is pretty good here, i’m getting ready to go walking with family, (mum, laurie, grandma, barbaliches, not sure who else?) in the abel tasman park. recently i have taken up mountain running as a way to see the country. it would probably be good for you too with all your hours on the bike.
its good to be alive sometimes! hope u r finding this too.
    tara

    Hi Jonny,

Just checking in to see how things are going. I notice that your guitar makes an appearance in a lot of your photos, so I’m expecting a few Latin American tunes from you.

I received a text from your parents today - they seem to be having a great time in France. Totally on the other end of the spectrum to your holiday.

Hope all is well & looking forward to catching up with you when you return to NZ.

    All the best
    Michael

    Hey Josh,
Great to see you are still on your trip.
Just wondering if you are coming over London way, I am not using my boat at the moment and if you need a place to live while you are here you are welcome to it.
But as ever fore warned is forearmed, let me know.
    speak soon,
    kev.
